Xclusive Detail Spa brings exterior detailing in NJ to your driveway or an approved workplace across Monmouth and Ocean County. Every exterior detail starts with a pre-wash and a careful hand wash, then covers the wheels and tires, bug and tar removal, the glass and the door jambs. Our Xclusive Signature package finishes the paint with a ceramic spray sealant.
Exterior work comes as part of both full-detail packages, so the interior gets cleaned in the same visit. Prices start at $149 for a coupe or sedan. Book your exterior detail online or call 848-318-7880.
What Our Exterior Car Detailing Includes
- Foam pre-wash. A layer of foam softens road film and grit so less of it is dragged across the paint during the hand wash.
- Hand wash and dry. The car is washed by hand and dried, with no brushes from an automatic car wash touching the finish.
- Wheel and tire detailing. Wheels and tires get a deep clean to lift brake dust and road grime, then the tires are dressed.
- Bug and tar removal. Bug splatter on the bumper and mirrors and tar spots behind the wheels are treated before they stain.
- Exterior glass. Windows, windshield and mirrors are cleaned.
- Door jambs. The painted edges inside the doors, which a car wash never reaches, are wiped down.
- Ceramic spray sealant (Xclusive Signature). A protective layer that adds gloss, makes water bead off and helps dirt release at the next wash.

How a Hand Wash Detail Protects Your Paint
Most swirl marks come from washing, not driving. A careful exterior detail follows an order that keeps grit away from paint that is already clean:
- Wheels and tires first, so brake dust and grime do not splash onto freshly washed panels.
- Foam and rinse to lift loose dirt before anything touches the paint.
- Hand wash from the top down, leaving the dirtiest lower panels for last.
- Spot-treat bugs and tar with dedicated removers instead of scrubbing.
- Dry with soft towels to avoid water spots.
- Finish the details: glass, door jambs and tire dressing, plus the ceramic spray sealant in the Signature package.
Contaminants NJ Cars Pick Up and How to Handle Them
Shore salt air, winter brine and tree-lined driveways all leave something on the paint. Here is what each contaminant does and what fixes it.
| Contaminant | Why it matters | How it is handled |
|---|---|---|
| Bug splatter | Acidic residue that bakes onto the front bumper and mirrors in summer | Bug and tar removal, included in every package |
| Road tar | Sticky black spots behind the wheels that washing alone will not lift | Bug and tar removal, included in every package |
| Bird droppings | Acidic and can etch the clear coat within days in hot sun | Removed during the hand wash; etching needs polishing |
| Tree sap | Hardens and bonds to the paint, especially under pine and maple trees | Fresh sap softens with washing; hardened sap may need clay or polishing, so mention it when you book |
| Winter salt and brine | Coats wheels, lower doors and rocker panels and encourages corrosion | Hand wash that covers the wheels, lower doors and rocker panels |
| Brake dust | Builds up on wheels and can pit the finish over time | Wheel and tire detailing |
| Rail dust and industrial fallout | Tiny bonded particles that make paint feel rough after washing | Paint decontamination and clay treatment, done with our polish packages |

Paint Decontamination and Clay Bar Treatment
Washing removes loose dirt, but some contaminants bond to the clear coat. A quick test: after a wash, put your hand inside a thin plastic sandwich bag and glide it over the hood. If it feels gritty rather than glass-smooth, the paint has bonded contamination.
- Clay bar treatment glides a detailing clay over lubricated paint and pulls out bonded particles such as overspray and rail dust.
- Iron decontamination uses a chemical spray that dissolves embedded iron particles, mostly from brake dust, often turning purple as it works.
At Xclusive Detail Spa, paint decontamination and clay treatment are done as needed as part of our One-Step and Two-Step Paint Correction packages, because polishing needs a clean surface first. See polishing and ceramic coating services for what each option includes.

Exterior Detailing at Your Home or Workplace
We bring the equipment and detail the car where it is parked in Monmouth and Ocean County. We use your water supply and a standard outlet, so check what mobile detailing needs from you before booking. Some apartment complexes and office lots do not allow car washing, so confirm it is permitted where the car will be.

Exterior Detailing FAQs
How much does an exterior detail cost?
With Xclusive Detail Spa, exterior detailing comes inside a full-detail package that also cleans the interior: $149 to $229 depending on vehicle size, or $199 to $299 for the Xclusive Signature with a ceramic spray sealant. You see the exact price for your vehicle before you book.
Is exterior detailing worth it?
Yes, if you want the paint to last. A careful hand wash removes grit, bugs, tar and bird droppings before they etch the clear coat, and a sealant makes the next wash easier. An automatic wash is quicker, but its brushes and recycled water are a common cause of the fine swirl marks you see in direct sun.
Does car detailing include wax?
Not always, so ask. Our packages do not use a traditional wax. The Xclusive Signature finishes the paint with a ceramic spray sealant, which typically lasts longer than a carnauba wax.
Can bird droppings permanently damage car paint?
They can. Bird droppings are acidic, and when they bake on in the sun they can etch a dull mark into the clear coat. Wash them off within a day or two. Light etching can often be improved with machine polishing.
Can a clay bar damage car paint?
Not when it is used correctly. A clay bar needs plenty of lubricant and light pressure; used dry or dropped and reused, it can leave fine marring. That is why clay treatment is usually followed by polishing and protection.
Do you offer a wash-only or exterior-only visit?
No. Every one-time package includes interior and exterior work, so the car is finished inside and out in one visit. If you want regular washes, the Maintenance Refresh membership every two weeks is the closest fit.
